The second painting in my ongoing bathroom ritual series. A woman in hot rollers and a silky robe perches in the corner of a peach-tiled bathroom with a cigarette, while a glass of red wine sits on the back of a mint-green toilet and a toothbrush waits on the sink.

Everybody has a room they disappear into when they need five minutes. Sometimes the bathroom is the only door in the house that locks, and this is what it looks like once you’re finally behind it.
