Commission a Painting
Have something you've been wanting me to paint? Tell me about it. Portraits, pets, people you love, meaningful places, something sentimental, something weird — send me your idea and we'll figure it out together.
What can I paint?
People send me all kinds of things to paint — people they love, pets, places, memories, and sometimes wonderfully weird ideas. If you're not sure exactly what you need yet, that's okay.

How it works
1
Tell me your idea
Send me your idea and any reference photos you already have.
2
We'll figure it out
I'll look over everything, and we'll work out the size, approach and details together.
3
Get your quote
I'll send you the final price and the details for your commission.
4
Reserve your spot
Once we decide to move forward, payment reserves your place on my commission calendar. Larger projects are typically paid in stages rather than in full up front.
5
I paint it
Then I get to make the thing!
6
It comes home to you
Once it's finished and ready, we'll get it safely to you.
Every commission is a little different
Size, number of subjects, complexity, and the idea itself all affect the final price. Tell me what you're thinking and I'll help you figure out the right approach.
Larger Signature, Collector, and special projects are quoted individually, and smaller commissions begin at $150.
Reference photos
Don't worry if you're not sure which photo is best. Send me what you have! More than one can actually be really helpful, and I'll let you know if I need anything else.
Need it by a certain date?
Tell me in the form below. I'll let you know whether I can accommodate it before you book.
Bigger projects
Now booking from January. Bigger projects take longer to plan, so it helps to start the conversation early.
Not every commission is one painting. If you're working on something larger — a room, a stairwell, a restaurant, an office, a wall that wants a mural — that's work I take on regularly and genuinely love.
That might look like a set of pieces made to live together and sized to your walls, a series for a restaurant or office, a mural inside or out, or one large statement piece for a space that needs it.
These work a little differently from a single painting. We'll usually start with the space itself — photos, dimensions, what's already in the room, what you want it to feel like. From there I'll put together a proposal covering sizes, approach, timeline and pricing for the whole project, rather than a single quote. Larger projects are typically paid in stages rather than up front.
Questions
How does booking and payment work?
Once we've agreed on the idea, size and price, I'll send your final quote. Single-piece commissions are paid in full up front, and that payment is what reserves your spot on my commission calendar. Larger projects are typically paid in stages instead. Sending an inquiry doesn't book anything or cost anything.
How do multi-piece projects work?
We start with the space: photos, measurements, what's already in the room and how you want it to feel. From there I'll put together one proposal for the whole project, covering how many pieces, their sizes, the overall approach, the timeline and the pricing, instead of quoting each painting separately. Once we agree on it, larger projects are typically paid in stages rather than all up front, and I'll keep you in the loop as the pieces come together.
What goes into a mural?
Every wall is different, so murals usually start with a site visit, or with photos and measurements if you're farther away. Before I put together a proposal, we'll talk through who owns the wall and whether a landlord, the city or anyone else needs to approve the design or issue a permit. Some surfaces need cleaning, repairs or primer before I can paint, and I'll let you know what yours needs. Outdoor murals also depend on the weather, so the schedule builds in some room for rain, heat and cold.
Do you ship?
Yes. We'll figure out shipping or delivery based on the size of the piece and where it's going, and I'll go over the details with your quote.
Can you have it ready by a certain date?
Maybe! Tell me the date in the form and I'll let you know honestly whether I can make it before you book. There isn't one standard turnaround time, because it depends on the piece and my calendar.
What reference photos should I send?
Whatever you have. Clear, well-lit photos are great, and more than one really helps. I'll let you know if I need anything else.
It's a gift or a surprise. Can you keep it quiet?
Of course. Mark it as a gift in the form, and tell me when it's safe to share so I don't spoil anything.
I don't know what size I want.
That's totally fine. Choose "I'd like you to recommend one" and I'll suggest a size based on your idea, your space and your budget.
Will it look exactly like my photo?
It'll be your person, pet or place, painted my way. Expect my style and some creative interpretation rather than a copy of the photo. That's the fun part.
What if I want changes?
If something is off from what we agreed on, tell me and I'll make reasonable adjustments. Because every piece is painted by hand, revisions aren't unlimited.
Who owns the rights to the painting?
You own the original painting. I keep the copyright, so it can't be reproduced as prints, products or merch without my permission. If you have something like that in mind, just ask.
Will you share my painting online?
Only if you say it's okay. The form asks whether I can share the finished piece or process, wait until after the gift or event, or keep it private.
Does sending an inquiry mean you'll take it on?
Not quite. I read every inquiry, but I can't take on every project. If it isn't a good fit or my calendar is full, I'll tell you honestly.
